Kings Head, Richmond. Christmas Wedding

Gemma & Ben got married at the Kings Head in Richmond, Yorkshire at Christmas time. Richmond is a beautiful part of the world, especially at Christmas, although it can be a bit chilly - especially if you’ve chosen quite a short wedding dress.

Both of them got ready at the Kings Head, which I love, because it means I can run between the rooms and capture both the bride & groom getting ready. The rooms at the Kings Head are very Photography friendly - they have lovely big windows & it was a lot of fun witnessing the pre-wedding excitement with Gemma & her Bridesmaids.

The ceremony was, as every ceremony where a dog is present is, brilliant. There was some lovely readings. They both said '“I do” - which was nice and then, because of the time of year with dwindling daylight, we headed outside for some portraits.

I was dressed how I normally am for a wedding - trousers, shirt, trusty Doc Martens & perhaps most importantly, a coat. Poor Gemma however, although she had a coat, was more exposed to the elements - and it was freezing! She was brave though and we got some lovely photographs in the ( high heel unfriendly ) cobbled backstreets.

Later in the evening, they had the speeches & they did my favourite thing - Bride’s speech! I love it when the ladies are represented in the speeches - well done Gemma!

To finish the night off, there was a Ceilidh. On the one hand, they are guaranteed to deliver fantastic dance floor photographs, full of movement, chaos & excitement. On the other, I normally end up being injured whilst concentrating on taking a photograph, rather than noticing the rapidly spinning grandparent approaching me. Every time.

Hope you like the photographs.
